My Language Got me in Trouble in My Biz (Don’t do this.)

My Language Got me in Trouble in My Biz (Don’t do this.)

My language has lost profits & trust in my biz. And it’s likely that is has in yours too. If you have attended one of my life events or a virtual training, you know that while I’m soulful and spiritual, I swear. Not a ton. But I express myself with my words. BUT cussing is not what this week’s article is about. It’s about the other language that folks use, including myself, that is much worse that cussing. It’s causing your prospects to lose trust in you. And the leads to lost profits and lack of referrals. It’s leading people to accept mediocrity. It’s keeping a lot of women from shining in their brilliance. It’s the equivalent of shrinking in your physical posture so you don’t stand out as much. Here it is: It’s using words like sort of, kind of, sometimes, etc. when describing what you do. Several weeks ago I was talking with someone about what they do for busy women entrepreneurs. I was intrigued and so excited to talk with her. Until she said something like this “Well, um, I kind of help women in their business by…..” Either you do it or you don’t. There is no kind of, sort of, or sometimes. Do you help people lose weight or do you “kind of help people with their eating plan?” Do you help people make money in their biz? Or do you “well, ya…I kind of rock people’s worlds by making them a rock star in their industry with a stellar brand?” Watch out for this DIRTY language! It totally devalues you and your freakin’ genius...
Will Gratitude Change You?

Will Gratitude Change You?

2012 has been brilliant at teaching me some powerful experiences. Gratitude is the ONE thing you can do regardless of your circumstances to start changing things to be better.  I’m grateful for the experiences of the past year. Here is what I‘ve learned so far in 2012:  Buying cute workout clothes won’t motivate me to work out. 😉 lol  Tears are good. Sometimes the tears that I held in years ago can come at the most inconvenient times. Laughing reminds me what is really important and it’s not the big stuff I worry about. Having a six-figure business is hard work. And it doesn’t answer all of my money concerns. Yes, I get tripped up with money stuff too. People come and go. Friendships will change. The perfect people who are my teachers will be there when I need them. A coach will never fix me. I will never fix my clients. A good coach helps you to see how you can fix yourself. My husband is a very patient man. I’m not equally patient and I’m working on it. I didn’t know you could love someone so much as the day you see a baby being born. When I experienced my niece Adelyn being born it changed me as a woman, as a sister and as a human being. I have so much more respect and adoration for life and the miracle that my body is. It made me love my curves even more. I love to teach and speak. Doing that makes all the stuff in my business I don’t love worth it. I never know what battles people...

The question that will make you more marketable

Several weeks ago, a friend of mine asked me a question that changed me. I continue to think about it. I continue to ask people the same question and I get the same response. The response is this: A look of awe. Sometimes tears. Usually silence. Always a breakthrough. The question is this: When are you going to stop pretending that you are normal? Seriously, when? No one has done what you have done. No one else has had the experiences you have had. No one has overcome the struggles you have had. No one can share your message in the ONLY way you can based on who you are, your divine gifts and every single experience you have had. You have been DESIGNED for success. Could it be as simple as a decision? Could it be as simple as you looking at yourself in the mirror in the same adoration that you look at a child or someone you love dearly? Could it be as simple as taking one simple action step? Could it be as simple as ASKING for help? The bottom line is you aren’t normal. You are a big deal. You have solutions to share with the world. BUT if no one knows about what you do then you are limiting your gifts. And that limits the money you make in your business. Go after your goals NOW. 2013 will be here before we know it. What you do NOW impacts everything. You have what it takes and you are unique. This UNIQUE factor is YOU. It’s not your content. It’s not quoting other people for...

15 Ways to Get Clients in the Next 30 Days

Marketing. Sales. Strategies. Online marketing. Email marketing… AH! Do you ever get overwhelmed with the MANY ways to market yourself? My question is still “How in the world do people have time to do Facebook AND Twitter AND Pinterest AND Google Plus (which I still refuse to join) AND Linked In?” 🙂 They key is to ask yourself what is really authentic for you. How can you best express your authentic voice? Where will your market hear you the most? For me, I like to have real conversations with people. Live events are my heaven. Facebook is my preference because my brain doesn’t think in 140 characters or less. If you are comparing your business to someone else’s, this will kill your profits quickly. Stop the comparison game and get focuses on what YOU want to do. After all, comparison is the root of all pain. So stop doing that to your business. How do you really get clients? Here are 15 ways to get in front of them, but you still have to do ONE thing when you activate these marketing strategies. You still have to ASK FOR THE BUSINESS. You can attract all you want, you can “manifest” your ideal client, but they won’t be a client until you ask for the business, they say yes and then you engage in an agreement that usually includes a contract and payment. If you are just starting to get clients, then it’s important to “act as if.” In other words, get your contracts ready, have a way to accept payment ready and have your client intake process ready to go....
