Why “I Need a Website” is often MORE than just a website

“I need a website.” “I need snazzy copy on my site to attract more clients, can you do that? Hmmm…I hear these things a lot and after asking a few questions, people can get overwhelmed by all of the moving parts included in a website. Do you just need a website? First, I’m going to talk about a “website” and how you probably don’t need just a website. Part 2 of this will be why good website copy costs more than $500. 🙂 People come to me thinking they need a website, but they actually require a few other things BEFORE they can get a website created that reflects who they are and that actually works for them. What’s in a website? A website is a marketing tool. Ideally, it’s something that helps you make money in your business. It’s not just slapping up a few pages online with a clipart logo and saying “good enough.” It also doesn’t mean spending $10,000 on a site when you don’t have a paying client yet or know what you are offering in your business. Here are a couple of questions that will guide you to know what you really need so when you get quotes to create a website, you’re getting accurate numbers and have realistic expectations. 1. Do you have a clear and compelling message (you know what you do and who you do it for) Side note on this one – your message is NOT your certification or modality. It’s YOU – your essence, what makes you unique and stand out. If you have a certification that is the...
What kind of Asker are You?

What kind of Asker are You?

Ask and receive. You’ve likely heard this before, right? When I used to hear that, I rejected it. It couldn’t be that easy, right? So I didn’t ask for stuff. I was taught to be grateful for what I had and I could be happy with very little. I saw my parents work really hard and heard a lot of “someday… if/when we get a lot of money…” and we would dream about what we would do IF… Then I learned how to work really hard to create things I desired… I stayed at jobs that I hated. I even worked for a boss who was verbally abusive to everyone around him. His temper tantrums included pounding his fists on the conference room table when he got mad, which was all the time. My thinking was, “But I’m making $60,000 a year and I can’t make that anywhere else.” I worked 60+ hours a week at most of my jobs. I went to the gym five days a week and ate tuna out of the can (super gross) to force my body to change. There was a lot of force involved and I made stuff happen, yet I always felt like I was behind – I never quite got ahead and it was never enough. In 2014, I declared joy in my life. I didn’t know how I was going to get it but I kept “putting it out to the universe” to show me something different. I had questions like this go through my head hundreds of times, “What if I learned abundance through abundance?” “Can I learn...
Episode 46: Are You Willing to Receive Unconditionally? with guest Nat Couropmitree

Episode 46: Are You Willing to Receive Unconditionally? with guest Nat Couropmitree

What kind of receiver are you? Are you the Perfectionist, Overgiver, Prover, No-Needer, or Sacrificer? In this episode, Nat Couropmitree gives simple life-changing tips to step into your Unconditional Receiver vs the type of receiver you think you need to be to create greater things in your life. The cycle of rejecting receiving of the very things you desire begins with denying yourself of the energy you desire so you can “work hard,” “be responsible,” or “make it happen.” Then you feel crappy about it and you look externally for validation. This vicious cycle continues until you become aware of the unconditional receiver that is within you. This means you start to receive yourself fully. The result? THAT is the energy behind your business, offers, pricing, marketing and everything else you do in your business. As a business owner, do you take time to consciously breathe? To be creative? To receive? Or is it all about output, focus, determination, and hard work? What you may very well find is the things you are seeking will come from the opposite actions you think are required. I loved this interview with Nat and you’ll love the simple exercise at the end to get you connected to your conscious breath and that unconditional receiver within.
